Welcome To The Ministry of Bill Dunn
I'm All Shook Up
This is a story that is alive with wisdom and humour as he shares about his evangelistic preaching and singing from the shores of Northern Ireland to England, Scotland, America, Canada, Africa, the Republic of Ireland and back to his native home.
It is a gripping story of one man’s incredible passion to share the good news. It provides an insight into the spiritual welfare that can only be attained by following God’s lead.
Meet Bill Dunn
With over 50 years in ministry, Bill is a renowned gospel singer, Bible teacher and now a retired Pastor. Though I don’t think anyone has told him he has retired, as his phone never stops ringing. There is always someone asking for him to call which he is happy to accommodate.
It was not always the Christian life that Bill was drawn to. Around school-leaving age , his close friends Van Morrison and George Jones started to learn to play instruments and sing together, which lead to some success.
In 1965, sick and tired of the lifestyle he was living, Bill Dunn walked out of the Belfast R&B band then called the Gamblers. This was just months prior to the band, which was renamed “Them” hitting the British rock charts with Baby Please Don’t Go and Here Comes the Night. Them exploded onto the world’s music stage when Van the Man Morrison took Bill’s place as the lead vocalist.
After many years of releasing CD’s it is in 2022 that after numerous requests Bill gave in and wrote his book, ‘I’m all Shook up’. This is a book full of humour, advice, Biblical insight and a testimony of God’s grace.
Married to his loving wife, Iris, for fifty years, they have two sons, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Their son, Paul is married to Gail and they have three children, Amy, Andrew and Paul junior who is married to Anna, they have one child named Joseph. Bill and Iris’ second son, Jonathan, is married to Annette. Sadly, Iris passed away in 2016.
What People Say About Bill
“This astonishing story recounting fifty-seven years of ministry and evangelistic preaching, which took Bill from the shores of Northern Ireland to England, Scotland, America, Canada, Africa, the Republic of Ireland and back to his native home is a gripping account of God leading and one man’s passion to share the good news.”
Superintendent of the Elim Church in Ireland.
``My life was impacted by Bill Dunn long before I met him. As a young Christian, at the beginning of the 1980’s, someone gave me a cassette tape of Bill’s challenging the lyrics of contemporary songs and their influence on the listener, exposing back-tracking, sometime referred to as “backwards-masking.”
Vice President, Global Teen Challenge
“One thing you will discover; he is an ordinary man, with an extraordinary message, which he shares with ordinary people to bring hope and blessing to all who hear him. Another thing; no matter what battle you face in life, it’s Bill who reminds us, Don’t give up, you’re on the brink of a miracle.”
Kilkeel Baptist Tabernacle, Northern Ireland
“Bill had the great privilege of ministering through his own gospel music programme which reached millions across Europe on the Sky satellite television platform and also through a weekly radio broadcast for UCB Ireland. Over the years Bill has recorded several gospel music albums, many of these tracks I featured over the years on my Gospel Time programme on Downtown Radio.”
The Morrison’s Gospel Group and former producer/presenter at Downtown Radio, Northern Ireland.
“It has been my privilege to know Pastor Bill Dunn from shortly after his conversion to Christ in the 1960s. We were both young men seeking to serve the Lord by witnessing, singing and testifying at the great open-air meetings in the city of Belfast. Over the past years, I have found Bill to be a faithful preacher and pastor, a faithful family man and a true servant of God.”
Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster
“Pastor Bill Dunn’s ministry has stood the test of time. He continues to share the gospel at every opportunity, with a willing spirit and unending enthusiasm to share the Lord’s love for him and his love for the Lord. It is this rescuing love for His Saviour Jesus that has permeated his life and ministry and forms the bedrock of this unfolding story.”
Irish Missions Director for Elim, Ireland
“He believes passionately in the message he preaches, and over the years that passion has never waned. His heart beats with enthusiasm, and the arteries have not hardened with age. He has been astute enough to recognise that the style of presenting the gospel can change, but the substance is non-negotiable.”
